Tyler Personal Assistance Associates
At Tyler Associates we believe that people with disabilities should have the same range of options for living as non disabled people. We do not subscribe to a one size fits all "program model". Therefore the people we serve live in a variety of settings (apartments and houses) with a variety of people (family , friends etc.) or alone if they so desire.
Tyler Associates provides Personal Assistants who are trained to help people with disabilities achieve their personal goals and to provide the day to day support to do the things that their disability may make difficult. We do not cure disability and we do not believe that people with disabilities need to be fixed. We are here to help on your terms.
We believe in the principles of self-determination:
- have the freedom to exercise the same rights as all citizens, including the right to live in the community.
- have the authority to control whatever resources are needed for one's own support.
- have the supports to live, work, and play in the community, regardless of the severity of their disability.
- have the responsibility of meaningful input in shaping the direction of their own lives.
