Women In Need, Inc.
Women In Need offers two treatment clinics, located in Manhattan and the Bronx. The Manhattan Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment Center and Casa Rita Substance Abuse Treatment Center was specifically created to meet the unique needs of women. The Center provides professional, high-quality care that promotes sobriety and self-sufficiency. We are dedicated to both innovative and traditional treatment programming designed to help women achieve economic self-sufficiency, occupational and educational goals, permanent housing, as well as developing family life and communication skills, and heightened cultural and ethnic identities.
Both treatment centers serve women over nineteen years of age from the five boroughs of New York. Our clients’ substance abuse histories vary in severity, and the Center tailors its services to each client's individual needs. Many of the women we serve have open child welfare cases, are in the process of reunification with their children, are transitioning from the criminal justice system, have histories of homelessness and unstable living environments, have long-term substance dependence and relapse histories, and present with a myriad of mental health and medical issues.
Core supportive services include:
- On-site child care and parenting services,
- Individual and group counseling,
- Acupuncture treatment,
- Medical and psychiatric assessments and services,
- Education and employment services,
- HIV/AIDS prevention and education,
- Domestic violence prevention and education,
- Relapse prevention and post-treatment aftercare services, and
- Sober recreational activities.
