Ralph-Lincoln Service CenterThe community represents one of the most basic institutions in our society. Ralph-Lincoln Service Center (RLSC) is dedicated to maintaining the institution of community through improving the quality of life, fostering cultural diversity and community stabilization by offering a full range of services to Crown Heights and its surrounding communities. RLSC was founded in 1980 by Robert Matthews who saw the need for a community service center in the Northeast section of Crown Heights in Brooklyn. At that time, there were not enough organizations to provide the low income families and community residents with the services that are integral to their empowerment. The commitment to empowering the community that became Ralph-Lincoln Service Center, Inc. was born when Mr. Matthews and a group of dedicated residents of Ralph Avenue and Lincoln Place started to assist school youth with their homework. RLSC offers the following resources: Experience in providing assistance to persons and families facing eviction, linkages with social service providers providing day care, job training and drug prevention services. |
