Project Sunshine
For many children and their families, an admission to the hospital can be a very stressful experience. Repeated and lengthy visits to the hospital when battling a terminal or life threatening illness can be even more stressful.
At Project Sunshine, it is our goal to alleviate the fear and anxiety associated with hospitalization, and to add some brightness to an experience that can be dark and gloomy.
How do we do it?
- We visit hospitals daily
- We send clowns and musicians
- We throw parties
- We distribute toys
The children that Project Sunshine reaches out to are usually in a lot of pain, and easily lose their inner strength and drive to live. Inner strength is a vital component for pulling through their long and arduous treatments.
Children may lose their hair and the color in their faces, but with our help their courage will remain strong. Although we cannot answer the question "why?," we can hold their hands and lend a shoulder to lean on.
It is our hope and prayer that soon there will be no need for organizations like ours.
