Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City
Nearly a century old, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC provides long-term one-on-one mentoring for 7- to 17-year-old kids from single-parent families and under served communities. Donations go toward matching kids with volunteers, who mentor children in schools and the juvenile-justice system or are assigned "littles" to take on cultural, educational, and recreational outings.
Among our Little Brothers and Sisters, outside research shows significant improvements in school attendance, grades, and self esteem. Think Big! If we each help one child, we can change the world. One hour a week is all it takes to mentor a child in our School-Based Mentoring Program, and make a difference in your community.
