Child Rights InternationalIntroduction: Child Rights International,CRIN, is a charitable, non-governmental organization aimed at creating awareness of the fundamental rights of the child and redressing perceived infraction of these rights. Child Rights International,CRIN, was established in 1997 to provide leadership in the development of legal protection of rights of the child. CRIN investigates, collate and publishes incidents of abuses of the rights of infants, children and young persons; encourages the discussion of problems relating to the rights of infants, children and young persons; creates awareness of the rights of infants as enshrined in United Nations's CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD, The regional human rights instruments and the Constitutions of States; promotes and encourages the enforcement of the rights enshrined in aforesaid instruments by infants, children and young persons; cooperates, liaise and enters into any arrangement with any association or agency engaged in activities similar to the ideals of this organization and to endow or establish any program aimed at educating and uplifting the living standards of the infants, children and young persons worldwide. CRIN is a registered charity and is dependent on donations from individual supporters and on grants from foundations, international organizations and governments. CRIN is governed by a Board responsible for setting policy and the implementation of policies. CRIN current establishment comprises an Executive Director/Head of Legal Services, President, Secretary-General, Administrative Director, four lawyers and four supporting staff. |
