Adams Foundation For Suicide Awareness And Prevention
We will be speaking at schools, church groups etc. to raise suicide awareness and help prevent suicide by education. We will also create an online support group for survivors and at risk individuals as a resource, information and support. Adams Foundation requires financing for operating costs, advertising, website, personnel training and funding for the grant program pursuant to its planned start-up. The Adams Foundation is currently working with Kansas Social Rehabilitation Services and other regional groups for referral, resourcing and support. We are currently in the process of applying for Federal Tax Exemption, grant monies, private sector funding as well as public funding to maintain our status as a public charitable foundation. The founder of the Adams Foundation is Adams mother, Kat Chrisman. Adam Spackman committed suicide on May 24th, 2002. Just two weeks later, Adams sister, Meagan, suffered a severe brain injury and numerous severe physical injuries from a near fatal car accident on June 9th, 2002. Kat Chrisman has also created a nonprofit corporation “Meagans Foundation, Inc.” for persons living with severe head injury. The Web page is up with “We care Too” at http://www.wecaretoo.com/Organizations/KS/meagansfoundation.html. Adams Foundation is starting from scratch - literally. We have no funding, all filling out and filing of paperwork to all agencies to incorporate, gain non-profit status, etc. is being done gratis by the founder and her friends who have seen the need and been kind enough to volunteer their time and energy. Kat and her family have started and Ebay store to raise funds to run both Foundations. Please use the link to support the Foundations – www.alltheabove.org. We would welcome any assistance or funding. Please feel free to contact us through the information listed for any reason. Sincerely, Kat Chrisman |
