Association of Kenyan Housewives Against HIV/AIDS (AKHA)
We work with women, girls and children affected and infected by HIV/AIDS pandemic. Our work aims at economic empowerment of women, girls and orphaned children who are heads of households.
In addressing the negative impacts of HIV/AIDS, we care for orphans, provide home based care training for caregivers of people especially women and children living with HIV/AIDS. We implement development programmes which are in line with Millennium Development Goals. We focus on poverty reduction, provision of education, treatment and care for people suffering from HIV/AIDS. We educate women and girls on their reproductive health and work with youth groups to conserve the environment and we look for global partnerships for development initiatives.
