Working Association for Rural Development - WARD
The WARD (NGO-NPO) for Social Service meets basic needs and helps individuals and families achieve their goals. We provide education-career Guidance, direct services, advocacy and information to people in need.
The majority of the world’s poorest people live in rural areas. Lack of income is a central feature of poverty. WARD’s strategy for the rural development sector in the ERTCP (Empowering Rural People with Technological Changes) program is to focus on reducing rural poverty by increasing opportunities for the poor to generate income. Increased income can provide the poor with the freedom to make choices about how to improve their lives.
The ERPTC has three components:
- Increasing agricultural sector productivity
- Stimulating rural non-farm employment and
- Managing natural resources sustain ably.
- Working directly with rural communities on income generating projects
- Developing collaborative partnerships in agricultural research for development.
