Voice India Development Trust - VIDT
We would like to introduce ourselves as Voice India Development Trust in short VIDT, established with the vision “Towards Holistic Family Health” by a group of Psycho-Social care providers in the year 2001 in Kanyakumari District of South India. It is a registered NGO under trust act in working for Women, Adolescents, and Children in the field of Health since 2002. We are running a Counselling centre which name is Share & Care -Adolescent and Family Counselling Centre and also patients counselling centre under supported by Tamilnadu Health system project, Govt .of Tamilnadu funded by World bank and Emergency ambulance service for poor patients transportation in Munchirai block.
Together with various health awareness programme organized in Kanyakumari District, VIDT took special effort in creating awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention and control among adolescent, women and high risk population in collaboration with different organizations working in southern Districts of India. The Integrated Geriatric Care Centre established in the year 2002 is providing day care facilities and medical support to the elders in the society. The rapport created with the District Elders Association help us to provide necessary psychological and medical care for those in need of such assistance.
We are one among the leading organization in the District providing Health Services to Women, adolescents and family members who are in distress. Moreover, we are facilitating as a Resource Centre by providing Psycho-social care training to bare foot counselors, social workers and health care providers in the field of HIV/AIDS. The District Level Counsellors Network formed by us is extending ad hoc support to the needy people.
We are also having full collaboration with the District administration and Joint Director of health and also health related working NGOs in this district. Already we are creating cancer awareness among the coastal women through self help groups and girls and also providing psycho social counselling for cancer patients in our target villages. We also member of STOP TB partnership member.
