Integrated Slum Development Programme: Shodh has initiated grassroots-level action programmes in a squatter settlement, settled along Shahadara Drain in Sector 16, 17, 18, Noida, (near Delhi). This ISD programme is being run in the basti (squatter settlement) of approximately 5000 squatter dwellers for about three years. Non-Formal Education (NFE): Two ‘Shodh Education Centres’ educating more than 200 children. Nutrition Programme - all children in the Centres are provided with a banana daily. “Chhutkan ki Library” and creativity development centre initiated to promote learning through fun among the slum kids. A total of 114 children from our NFE Centres have been mainstreamed. Livelihood Enhancement: An “Employment Resource Centre (ERC)” has been created so that the community youth can avail information on options related to gainful employment. The Shodh ERC assists towards aspiration and personality development, training, micro-enterprise, SHG, etc. Environmental Sanitation: Shodh is mobilising the community for initiating upgradation in the existing environmental conditions of the slum.
