Priyadarsini Educational And Rural Development Society - PERDS
Priyadarsini Educational And Rural Development Society (PERDS)was founded and formally registered in the year 2005 under the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act 35 of 2001, has 100% Tax Exemption u/s 12AA and is eligible to provide 50% Tax Exemption u/s 80G ( 5 ) vi of IT Act 1961 granted by the Commissioner of Income Tax , Govt. of India, Tirupathi.
PERDS is a gender sensitive development organisation and one of the pioneering Non-Governmentla Voluntary Organisations that holistically addresses the issues of trafficking in persons and provides a range of activities from campaigns, advocacy and sensitization of various stakeholders on the issues of trafficking to rescue and rehabilitation and socio-economic re-integration of the victims of trafficking.
PERDS works to combat human trafficking, prevent second generation prostitution and prevent HIV /AIDS and also bring gender equity in the community. PERDS's adoption of a right based approach shows a district reflection on its philosophy, efforts and programme design including:
- HIV /AIDS awareness progamme for adolescents
- Support progamme for sex workers
- Rescue, re-integration and rehabilitation for victims of trafficking
- Nutrition support progamme for PLHIV both women and children
