Mother Theresa Development Research InstituteMother Theresa Development Research Institute was formed in July 1998 by a group of committed youth to undertake action oriented research programmes in villages. Impressed by the social service of Mother Theresa, this Research Institute was named after her. It is registered under Indian Trust Act with the number 235/2000 and also under 12A of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The Motto of the Institute is to “SERVE WITH LOVE”. Our Vision is: Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Welfare of the Vulnerable Sections of the Society; and to Establish Support Systems for Women, Children., Dalits, Youth, Aged and the Community. Our Mission is to undertake need based, problem-solving, policy related and action oriented development research in rural and urban sectors, promoting an integral, comprehensive and socially relevant education in rural and urban areas, and under taking all welfare and development projects and programmes for the empowerment of Women and Children. and the Community. Our Target groups are: Women, Children, .Dalits, Youth, Disabled and Aged. We are involved in the areas of research and action for the following:Human Rights, Education, Health, Environment, Legal Aid, Drinking Water, Non Conventional Energy, Family Welfare & Planning, Arts & Culture, Media and Economy. The area of operation of the Institute shall be throughout India including all the States and Union Territories. However, we limit our target area in the district of Trichirappalli in Tamil Nadu. We are running a small Documentation Centre which caters to the need of social workers, social scientists, researchers and the students on the Thrust Areas of the Institute. We support poor women, especially dalit widows in adding value to agriculture produce and market them. |
