Jeevantirth‘Jeevantirth’ is a voluntary organisation based at Juna Koba, Gandhinagar, registered as a trust during 1997 by full time social workers, working since 1985 under the banner of ‘Prayog’- an experiment. ‘Jivantirth’ believes that life is the most valuable possession of human beings. The objective of ‘Jeevantirth’ is to create citizens who pine and live life in it’s true sense. The vision of ‘Jeevantirth’ is to make efforts so that every citizen of future generation dares to think independently and live meaningful life and becomes a global citizen by nurturing the local culture and heritage, with letting them down the barriers between individuals; they become healthy, knowledgeable, wise and live with joy, love and understanding. ‘Jeevantirth’ works through a four-fold programme, including children, adolescent, environment and issues related to village development. ‘Anandotsav’, one of the activities of the organisation, provides opportunities for the growth of the children. Friendship with the adolescents help to create global perspective and developing creative approach. Reverence for life is the foundation for environmental activism. Self-governance in village is enabled through development of self-leadership of rural youth. ‘Jeevantirth’ also plays an active role in human rights, social justice and displacement related issues. Trustees and workers of ‘Jeevantirth’ consider themselves as lifelong learners, believing in education through life and education throughout life. They consider ‘Jeevantirth’ as ‘School for Life Lovers’- “Jivan Premio Ki Shala”, and its mission to spread joy, love and understanding. ‘Jeevantirth’ works in a modest way and generally does not accept Government or foreign funds. ‘Jeevantirth’ welcomes support from friends, well wishers and other trusts. ‘Jeevantirth’ is also instrumental for the activities of ‘Swaraj’ in the state of Gujarat. |
