Indian Social Service Institute
ISSI is a non-profit secular voluntary organisation founded by professionally qualified volunteers on 13th March, 1986 for promotion of social justice and development of rural weaker sections.
Legal status:
Registered under Indian public trust act; Regd.No.39/86 dt 13th March,1986. Also registered under FCRA in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India to receive foreign funds.
Basic Aim:
To Promote socio,economic and cultural advancement through education,research and field action programmes for the upliftment of rural weaker sections by integrated eco-friendly approach.
Target group and area:
Women and children of rural poor families of Pudukottai district of Tamilnadu, S.India. Our main focus on child labourers, widows and girls, disabled and old aged people.
Needed programmes for the groups:
- Education for children,
- Income generation,
- Water & sanitation facilities,
- Community based rehabilitation for disabled and old aged people and
- Eco-farming and tree plantation programs
- Creche centers for rural poor children,
- Vocational training for rural girls,
- Rural housing and sanitation,
- Environmental education for school children and study and awareness on child labour issues
- Rural based training center,
- Trained field staff - 10

- Library and documentation facilities
- Child labour elimination project,
- Reproductive and Child Health project,
- Water and sanitation awareness project and
- Rehabilitation programmes for disabled and old aged people
