Gospel Voice Mission Trust
Gospel Voice Mission Trust is a registered charitable and religious trust functioning at Thiruthangal, South India from 2001 and the Trust Registration Number is 419/2001. We have just been granted FCRA Number 076110020 by the Central Government of India. Apart from the church service activities this trust is also involving in social development activities to promote the welfare of the downtrodden, oppressed, marginalized, ungoverned segment of the society, irrespective of the caste, creed, and religion.
TESTIMONY
Gospel Voice Mission Trust has been formed on the day of 23rd December, 2001. I, Dionysius K, M.A., M.Phil, the founder of this mission, was born in a Hindu, gentile family as the eldest son in the town of Sivakasi, South Tamilnadu in the year 1952. I was taught to worship the idols of Lord Muruga, Lord Shiva and other gods and goddesses very fanatically and in a staunch manner. I used to do all poojas along with my parents every Tuesday and Friday to Lord Shiva & Lord Muruga and used to take fasting on those days.
Knowingly or unknowingly we hate Christians and their God too! Even right from my childhood, I never forget to worship the idols in a vigorous manner. My parents named me as “KARUNAMOORTHY” to remember Lord Karna, the abundant giver. Due to severe poverty, I discontinued my college studies and by God’s grace, I have been selected as Revenue Inspector in the Revenue Department under State Government control in the beginning of the year 1973.
After joining in the department, my life has been fully corrupted with all of the bad vices. My life has been changed drastically. I was a drunkard, chain smoker, adulterer, gambler and what all the bad vices are in the earth, I was addicted and was having all of the sinful lusts. Due to these, I was not getting any peace or satisfaction. I was forced to commit suicide twice and graciously I was saved on those occasions.
During the course of these events, October 25, 1973 one of my mess room colleagues told me the Gospel and challenges me that Jesus is the real and only God. That whole night I couldn’t sleep and I was filled in the mighty presence of God and confessing all my sins in the presence of our Lord with tears and cry. God gave me a new heart and all things were completely passed away from my sinful heart.
From that repentance occasion, I was having the burning desire to reveal Christ among gentiles at any cost with my full energy. I took baptism in 1974 at Assemblies of God Church and changed my baptism name as DIONYSIUS and too changed all the names in the government records through publishing in the Government Gazette. Because of corruption in that job, I hate that job and resigned that State Govt., job as on 31st December, 1975.
By His immense grace, I was posted as Assistant in State Bank of India, Sivakasi, and my birth place on 11th July 1976. Vigorously I and my youth team went to nearby villages and preach the gospel. Then I got married and got 2 sons. Whenever time permits we do different types of literature ministry, Sunday school gathering, youth gathering, prayer cells, and cottage prayers and so on.
I have got a clear call from Lord to serve as full time. At that particular point in 1999, Church of God (full gospel) in India establishment posted me as a lay preacher among Ceylon Repatriates in the place named Kandiyapuram, near Vembakkotttai, 25 kilometers away from Sivakasi.
God has blessed that ministry and we built a beautiful church named “GLAD CHURCH”. Many hungry souls accepted Christ as their personal Savior from different nearby villages. At the weekend we used to go outreaches among the nearby villages. God graciously gave us many souls in that area. I was serving as a Lay Pastor for 2 years. Many repatriates have accepted Christ and there was a great revival in that period. To God is the Glory!
According to the leading of the Holy Ghost, I took voluntary retirement in the Banking sector in the year 2001 march, and God gave me a burden to serve among gentiles. In these circumstances we have started our Gospel Voice Mission Trust and started ministry as independent. We have registered as a religious trust Registration No.419/2001.
Lord is blessing our ministry as well as our mission work abundantly. My only ambition is to serve and die for Christ. We started our church ministry at the following address in a temporary asbestos building at 191, Satchiyapuram road, Gandhiji Nagar, THIRUTHANGAL-626130, Tamilnadu in the year 2001, May,1st.
CHURCH ACTIVITY
Gospel voice mission church is situated at 191, Satchiyapuram Road, Thiruthangal. 120 members are regularly coming to worship the Lord in Sundays. After the service is over youth meetings will be conducted to motivate the youths to involve in social development activities and to develop spiritual attitude among them.
And we are concentrating 10 nearby villages namely Satchiyapuram, M.Pudupatti, Thuluckankurichi, Vembakkottai, Virudhunagar, Vellaiyapura, Gangakulam, Kannagi colony, Erichanatham and South Anaickuttam within the radius of 25 kilometers. Mostly backward class people are living in these rural villages. The people in those villages are working in the Fireworks, Match factories and Printing Presses. Their earnings are very low and limited; they used to send their child for laboring. Child Labor is the very common one in these areas.
OUR PROGRAMMES
- SUPPORT TO HANDICAPPED:
Our congregation members are supporting handicapped people and children, by providing little amount of money to meet out their emergency expenses. Dresses were also supplied to them once in a year. Handicapped Tricycles are given to the needy handicapped souls.
- YOUTH MEETINGS:
Youth meetings are conducted regularly to motivate the youth to develop the sense of responsibilities to look at the social problems and to do the remedial measures with in our own limits too bring attitude change to develop communal harmony and peace, spiritual camps were also conducted by the church to involve the youth to provide material helps to the oppressed, poor and helpless. Youths are also engaged in relief work during the emergency periods.
- SUPPORT TO SCHOOL CHILDREN AND DROPOUTS:
School going children coming from very poor background are being supported by providing note books, school fees, uniforms and other related educational materials. Dropouts children are being governed by our youth member’s proper guidance are given to them to get proper employment opportunities or to continue their studies. This help, helps them to attain a good future and also prevent them from becoming antisocial elements.
- HELP TO THE POOR:
Poor people, widow, deserted who deserve help are being identified by our church members. We are providing them some financial supports, dresses, vessels, medical facilities etc.,
- HELP TO POOR PATIENTS:
A team of our church members are visiting hospitals to help the poor patients, to encourage them through counseling. Assistance are also given to them to purchase medicines, and to the needy things to meet out their hospital needs. This approach helps them to get away from their tensions.
- SELF EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME
- The Trust is committed to serve the cause of the under privileged and oppressed sections of the Society.
- To work for community development and welfare of economically, socially and educationally backward.
- To serve the cause of the different categories of physically and mentally affected people.
- To work for the welfare and emancipation of children and women. The Trust will function as a secular, non-profit making service organization.
- To promote good health to benefit the weaker section of rural and urban people.
- To initiate assist cottage industries or any other schemes, and to conduct skill trainings which provide employment to other weaker sections.
- Providing relief and rehabilitation activities for the physically and mentally effected groups of people.
We are also planning to start a home for aged, deserted, destitute and orphans and to support the school going children by providing educational materials. To address the health need of the community some health and development programmed are also planned to be implemented in the following years.
In the year 2002 October, we bought a land of 22 cents for our Trust and we are planning to construct our permanent church building as well as our aged home building and other buildings for the public welfare
CONCLUSION
Gospel Voice Mission Trust is a Charitable and Religious Trust. We are rendering our service irrespective of caste, creed and religion. When we got more support, we will be do better service to meet out the challenging needs of the needy here.
