Greenseen Foundation, a non-profit registered society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Society Registration Act 27 of 1975, Rules 1978, commenced its activities to promote a cleaner greener future for all. The following are the objectives of Greenseen Foundation:

1. To create environmental awareness among people.

2. To conduct events like seminars, group discussions, entertainment programmes and exhibitions for creating environmental awareness and concern among people.

3. Planting saplings in and around the city of Chennai.

4. Promoting terrace gardening without the use of chemical fertilizers.

5. Preventing unnecessary suffering to animal life.

6. Promoting zero waste home thereby conserving energy.

7. Popularizing environment - friendly products (e.g. tree free paper) and encouraging their consumption.

8. Encouraging less usage of products which cause pollution (e.g. Plastics, CFC, Chemical Fertilizers, etc.)

9. Formation of sub-groups to carry out the above activities in various locations. (e.g. sub-groups in school/colleges, rural communities, etc.)

In trying to have our primary objectives fulfilled we have decided to conduct a one day training programme on the 17th of July'99 at C P Ramaswamy Environment Education Centre, a centre of excellence of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India.

Basic Training on environmental awareness will be imparted to the participants who are drawn from different segments of the society (Students, Employed youth, Teachers, Priests and Nuns)

We have also decided to organize a Rock Concert at The Indian Institute of Technology Campus, Chennai, during the month of September'99, the Theme being "Save The Earth". The proceeds of this concert will be utilized in environment awareness campaigns like planting of tree saplings in and around the city of Chennai.
