Centre for Development of Science and Technology (CDST)
CDST is a scientific body concentrating on the nutritional / medical aspects of indigenous preparations consumed in the state. Our recent observations revealed that the “nutricines” (active components) present in the food items prepared by lay-man can prevent a number of diseases and can act as a good balanced diet. This approach is called nutriceuitical approach. In Western medicine, the science of nutrition and the dietary management of diseases is of only recent origin, but various Indian systems of medicine, especially in ayurveda the importance of diet in the maintenance of the prevention and management of diseases has been adequately emphasized or even over emphasized.
