Bharti Eye Foundation
Bharti Eye Foundation was started in 1985 with a view to provide quality eye care to the poor and needy of India. Dr.S.Bharti is a postgraduate from S.N.Medical College, Agra which is one of the first medical schools in India. Bharti Eye Foundation has grown over this period and now caters to around 100 or more patients in the outpatient department everyday. There is a staff of three doctors and eleven paramedics looking after these patients. The Out Patient Department has every modern facility and investigation facilities like Auto Perimetry, Corneal Topography, A & B Scan Ultrasound of the eye, Fundus Fluorescien Angiography, YAG laser and Diode Laser.
The Indoor is a Hospital setup and has 15 beds totally devoted to eye patients out of which eleven are totally free. There are two operation theatres with full facilities and state of the art SOVERIEGN phaco machine from Allergan. The OR has facilities for both Anterior and Posterior Segment eye surgery.
Dr. S. Bharti was one of the first to start Refractive Surgery in North India and was the first to start LASIK in November 1995. He was also the first to start Eye drop Phaco in 1996. The institution is the first to acquire a SOVERIEGN machine in SAARC countries. He has done over 50,000 refractive surgery procedures. Part of the income from private patients is diverted to look after the charity done by Keshav Sagar Eye Research Foundation.
Under the aegis of KESHAV SAGAR EYE RESEARCH FOUNDATION the hospital provides free cataract operation to the poor and Phaco training to the doctors.Till now 27 doctors have undergone training in Phaco in the institution. Keshav Sagar Eye Research foundation is a totally Charitable trust and is a registered charitable organisation with the government. The donations are exempted from tax. We also look forward to the donations in the form of Ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Keshav Sagar Eye Research Foundation was inaugurated by Prof. Howard Fine of Oregon USA.
