Association for Rural Development and Action Research (ARDAR)
ARDAR is an NGO working relentless for 15 years for eradication of child labour, disaster management (tsunami, cyclones), livelihoods and gender issues for tribal and fishing community in India
ARDAR’s AIM is to improve the conditions of the fisher folk communities from present exploitative levels and to sustain the development process through self-management. To realize this aim, the STRATEGY focuses around empowering the community. The objective will be nurtured through building their capacity to manage issues that control. Since such a capacity building goes beyond a village situation, support mechanism will need to be explored at the macro level.
The rights of the people were affected and influencing the policy implementation and policy changes at the macro level is required. Thus ARDAR has developed collaborative alliances at the state and national level. ARDAR has also mobilized resources to the community from several sources to enhance livelihood opportunities and to provide dignified life.
