Agency for Development and Rural Self Help Associations - ADARSHA
Agency for Development Awakening and Rural Self Help Associations (ADARSHA) is a charitable non profit, non-governmental organization committed to the development or services to the disadvantaged and disabled people based in Moodbidri, Karnataka state India.
ADARSHA or Agency for Development Awakening and Rural Self Help Associations was constituted in the year 1995 and registered as as charitable social service agency in 1999 by a group of concerned professionals in the fields of social work, agriculture, education and community development for undertaking social service and development action among the weaker and disadvantaged people. Presently the agency is active in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts of Karnataka state in India.
Our important Objectives are:
- Promote sustainable development of the poor and disadvantaged social sections
- Organize the underprivileged and oppressed social classes
- Promotion and capacity building of People's self help associations and cooperatives.
- The socio-economic empowerment of women belonging to the poor social sections in the rural areas through the promotion of their Self Help Groups and other capacity building measures. The programme aims at securing equal opportunities, gender justice, social security and economic self reliance of poor women from the rural areas.
- Secondly we are pooling our resources for assisting about 150 children with multiple disabilities for their training, educational, medical and other community based rehabilitation requirements. We appeal to all well meaning donors to support our initiatives for the service of the poor and deprived people and social classes in our area. Donations to ADARSHA are exempted under section 80 G of Income Tax Act, India.
