Agape Christian MissionAgape Christian Mission is an indigenous, non-denominational missionary organization, registered in India as a non-profitable religious and charitable trust (219/2002) run by a committed board members. Nature of Missions:
Yearly auditing is done March to March and monitored by the managing board and board members. By request we are happy to share our last three years financial statements. India has the second largest population in the world (1.3 billion), and there are more children under the age of fourteen in India than the entire population of the United States. 35% of the population lives on less than a dollar a day. 5,700,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS. ___________________________________________________________ There are about 44 million destitute children and over 12 million orphan and abandoned children, yet there are only 5000 (0.04%) adoptions in India every year. About 90% of those abandoned are girls whose poor young mothers cannot afford to keep them. They face a bleak future as beggars, forced into prostitution or menial labor. While the Government of India reports about 20 million child laborers, other non-governmental organizations estimate the number to be closer to 50 million. A VISIONAY SERVANT-LEADER In obedience to the Great Commission, Agape Christian Mission serves with an aim to reach the unreached people in South India. The orphanage of Agape Christian Mission is the result of Pastor Rajan's vision and commitment for orphans which emerged from his own life experience. Rajan lost his mother when he was one year old and was raised in a Christian home which gave shelter to both orphan and needy children. Rajan and his wife Helan have a child of their own; nevertheless, he is a father to 28 children at present and moving with a vision to care for 100 orphan and destitute children by 2010.
