The Senior Services Center of Will County is a not for profit agency; 501 © (3). As a multipurpose senior center we serve persons age 50 and over that reside in Will County.

Agency Mission

Senior Services purpose is to enhance the quality of life of older persons; help maintain independence; avoid or lessen isolation, loneliness and maintain wellness.

Services Provided

Senior Services Center of Will County provides the following services:
  • Eligibility determination and arrangements for:
    • Adult Day Care, Homemaker Services,
    • Home Delivered Meals and
    • Senior Companion.
  • Monitoring persons receiving above services
  • Universal Pre screening Services for appropriate nursing home placement
  • Elder Abuse Investigation (we are on call 24 hours)
  • Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group
  • Health Services (flu shots, blood pressure screenings and other health screenings)
  • Information and Assistance
  • Money Management Program
  • Nutrition Program (twelve congregate sites and home delivered meals)
  • Ombudsmen Program (nursing home complaint investigation)
  • Medicare/Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Program (a program that combats Medicare/Medicaid Fraud)
  • Outreach (home visits for those not reached in previously mentioned programs)
  • Recreational and Social Activities
  • Social Services
  • Special Interest Classes
  • Transportation
  • Volunteer and Educational Opportunities
Clients Served

Annually SSC serves over 33,000 seniors in Will, Grundy and Kankakee Counties. (Providing nursinghome ombudsmen to Kankakee and Grundy counties). In 1999 Senior Services provided 469,320unduplicated units of service to the older adults of Will County. This was a 7 percent increase over1998. In fiscal year 1999 Senior Services nutrition program provided 116,734 home delivered meals tothe older adult residents of Will County. Senior Service's protective services caseworkers responded to 147 reported cases of elder abuse.

Funding

Supported by the Illinois Department on Aging, Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging, United Way and voluntary contributions.


This organization has informed us they are qualified under their local country tax law to receive tax deductible contributions.
