The Republic Foundation
The Republic Foundation supports and mentors K-12 teachers and students, and we develop leaders among K-12 students, including students from challenging backgrounds and environments.
Our mission is to to empower leaders to learn and students to lead.
Founding Values:
- We believe a great teacher is society's greatest asset. Therefore: We support projects that empower teachers to extend their influence inside and outside their classroom.
- We believe great leadership is a continuous improvement process. Therefore: We support projects that build professional learning communities.
- We believe America's retired teaching population is an untapped resource of wisdom and leadership. Therefore: We support projects that promote inter-generational mentoring between retired educators and young teachers. We believe service learning is the foundation of leadership development. Therefore: We support civic engagement projects that empower student leaders.
- We believe unrecognized leaders exist in America's under-served youth. Therefore: We support projects in urban communities.
- We believe liberal arts education is integral to leadership development. Therefore: We support projects that expose leaders to mathematics, the social and applied sciences, philosophy and astronomy.
- We believe healthy leaders possess moral and emotional intelligence. Therefore: We support projects that promote spiritual health and artistic expression.
- We believe aptitude in technology is necessary for effective leadership. Therefore: We support projects that build 21st Century skills in students and teachers.
