McHenry County Mothers Of Multiples (McMOMs)
Our Mission—Inform, Encourage and Support
Since January 2000, the McHenry County Mothers of Multiples (McMoms) has helped numerous mothers of twins, triplets and higher order multiples manage the joys and challenges of raising multiples. McMoms mission is to provide opportunities for mothers of multiples to connect and support one another by sharing information and personal experiences.
McMoms provides support to mothers in Northern McHenry County, Northwestern Lake County and Southeastern Walworth County. McMoms is a proud member of the National and Illinois Organization of Mother of Twins Clubs, Inc., (NOMOTC and IOMOTC). These not-for-profit groups are educational and public service organizations for mothers of multiples. McMoms members also receive newsletters from these groups and can participate in numerous activities such as workshops, conventions and research studies.
Reaching Out - Our Community Commitment
As a part of our continuing community commitment the McHenry County Mothers of Multiples visit with health care providers and school administrators. Our goal is to provide them with information and to set up a relationship by which they can call on us with questions or concerns they have in topic areas like: Placement of Multiples in School, Managing Multiples Birth Families and even Bereavement Support.
McMoms also provides:
- Weekly Playgroups—hosted at member’s homes, parks and playgrounds.
- Special Events and Social Activities—numerous holiday parties, family outings, picnics, appreciation luncheons and our monthly “McMoms Night Out”.
- Monthly Newsletters—informative articles, recipes, club news and resale information.
- Resources—a club library, data bank statistics, research studies, workshops and shareshops for new and seasoned moms.
- Philanthropic Activities—various projects to support moms-in-need and our community.
- Leadership Opportunities—numerous volunteer opportunities to display your talents, meet new people and to have fun.
- Monthly Meetings—Time to Share and Learn - Meetings are the second Thursday of each month at the Nippersink District Library, 5418 Hill Road in Richmond, Illinois from 7pm to 9pm.
