LNR: Labor 'N Resources, NFP, Inc.LNR: Labor 'N Resources, NFP, Inc. is a green collar oriented, trade skills / weatherization job training, 501 c 3 (non-discriminating) community-based organization for the unemployed. MISSION: To empower and assist unemployed adults and "at risk" adult youth toward their Self-Sufficiency. CONCEPT: "A Community's Most Valuable Asset is the Self-Sufficiency of its Residents." OBJECTIVE: To assist with training a Skilled Green Collar/Weatherization Trade Skills Workforce to meet the needs of emerging jobs for green building and/or retro-fitting homes' and buildings' energy efficiency and conservation for reducing energy cost to the community while enhancing: the health and well-being of all life forms, the environment and the economy. The program will provide, at NO COST to the participant, entry level "Trade Skills" green collar/weatherization job training. And, is designed to: ASSIST with enhancement to the 9th Grade level; PROVIDE work skills, basic computer job search skills and interviewing skills; PROVIDE motivational coaching and assistance with identifying and modifying "barriers" to Self-Sufficiency; PROVIDE in-classroom instructions & return demonstrations; PROVIDE direct hands-on, supervised construction of, green weatherization of, and dismantling of a "kit-house;" ASSIST with obtaining gainful employment and job mentoring; and, AIDE in "bridging" to higher education and career advancement. The program is intense, 4 months long, Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. A Certificate of Completion will be given. Participants' skills and talents will be matched and aligned with employers' needs. Uniforms, tools, lunch and some transportation will be provided. LNR is seeking funding support from: Grants, Donor Pledges, 3 Year Gifters, and/or Participant Sponsors. Also, seeks to partner with established, of kind, organizations and/or WIA work-net Centers.
