Animal Protection LeagueThe Animal Protection League is a network organization of more than 300 members who act together in Southeast Iowa, West Central Illinois, and Northeast Missouri, to match those looking to adopt a pet with pets available for adoption. The APL successfully places over 600 pets a year in loving and lifelong homes. We also maintain a spay/neuter assistance program, foster care program, community education, and lost pet assistance. The Feline Festival is our largest fundraising event, held annually in April, and is the largest household cat show and celebration in the United States. The APL is currently undertaking a capital campaign to build and operate Homeward Bound Animal Adoption Center, Spay/Neuter Clinic, and "No Kill" Shelter. Homeward Bound will be the only regional pet adoption center in the service area. Members and volunteers are always welcome, along with gifts and donations to continue our important work. For more information about the Animal Protection League, Homeward Bound, or the Feline Festival, please call Barb Adrian, President, at 319-753-0401.
