Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences, Inc. (MARR)Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences, Inc. (MARR) was established as an alternative to the prevailing limited approach to treating addicts, and offered treatment that recognized and addressed the many intertwined aspects of life that are affected by addiction. Donnie Brown opened what was to become MARR's first recovery residence in 1973 and thus begun MARR's amazing journey of service to nearly 10,000 men and women struggling to combat the disease of chemical addiction. Donnie's mission in opening that first residence was to provide a safe and therapeutic environment in which recovering addicts could gain mental, physical, and spiritual strength as they prepared to live sober lives. Today MARR, a non-profit organization, operates 26 residences and is recognized as the most cost-effective treatment program in Atlanta and the one of the most cost-effective in the United States. MARR clients remain in treatment an average of 83 days, and 80% of those entering complete their treatment program. MARR's 90-day program costs approximately $9,500, half of what most programs charge for a similar length. Visit the Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences, Inc. (MARR) home page. |
