Climbing 4 The Cure
Climbing 4 The Cure was established with the mission to raise $100,000,000.00 for cancer research, public awareness, charities and to assist in the fight against cancer. C4C intends to raise the funds through private and public fund raising events and a worldwide campaign of awareness through climbing the Seven Summits, or seven highest points on each continent, in record time. We will bring media attention to this cause and enlist as many media outlets as possible to assist in reaching potential donors. The One Hundred Million dollars will be distributed through several non-profit organizations, charities, research facilities and awareness campaigns. The climbing team will be comprised of Rob Burns, Ken Burns, Josh Grossman, Dr. Grossman and Scott Woolums from the Adventures International Mountain Guides. The goal of C4C is to raise $100,000,000.00 by the time it takes to climb all the mountains. The current record is 214 days held by the former world famous mountaineer the late Rob Hall. The expedition will begin in South America with Vinson January 1st 2006 and finish with Denali in June 2006 roughly 160 +/- days.
