Volunteer Center Greater Orange CountyThe Volunteer Center of Greater Orange County was established in 1958 as the only organization to connect individuals interested in volunteering with nonprofits and community service groups in need. It now serves as one of the five largest and most comprehensive of the 500 volunteer centers nationwide, operating as a partner with The Points of Light Foundation in Washington D.C. The Volunteer Center, a 501 ( c ) 3 organization, proactively works to meet its mission of "connecting people and resources for a better Orange County." Through a myriad of programs that focus on volunteer involvement and the Nonprofit Resource Center, which focuses on education and information resources, the Volunteer Center assists organizations in making Orange County a better place to live and work. More than 2,000 Orange County nonprofit agencies, schools, businesses, civic and community organizations are served by the Volunteer Center through its departments and programs.
