Tri-County Independent Living, Inc.
Tri-County Independent Living is a private, non-profit organization run by a Board of Directors, many of whom have disabilities.
Tri-County Independent Living is one of twenty-nine Independent Living Centers throughout the state of California servicing over 1.5 million people with disabilities and promoting the Philosophy of Independent Living. We have proudly served Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity Counties since 1978.
Our mission is to promote the philosophy of independent living so that people with disabilities can have control over their lives and full access to the communities in which they live. We do this by encouraging people to make the most of their potential and by working to create an accessible community.
Our Core Services include: Information & Referral, Assistive Technology, Housing Assistance, Individual & Systems Advocacy, Independent Living Skills Training, Benefits Counseling, Peer Counseling, Youth Services, and Community Outreach (for more information about TILI's Core Services see "What We Do" link on our home page).
We accomplish this by helping the consumer find out about community services, assistive technology, housing, advocacy, group peer support, training and education.
