St. John's Shelter Program for Women and ChildrenSt. John's Shelter Program for Women and Children provides shelter and rehabilitative services to 100 homeless women and children for a maximum 90-day stay. These services include not only food and shelter but also customized self-sufficiency treatment plans with goals that are tailored to meet the needs of each client. All school-age children must be enrolled in school; our Children's Program is a fully-staffed department in the Shelter, with case management for all children 10 years of age and older. Adult Services that are chosen for the individualized plan include domestic violence counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, mental health counseling, public health services, nutrition and fitness, parenting, financial management, housing placement, employment readiness and placement, and various self-development classes. Through our After-Care Program, St. John's continues to assist women and children on their road to self-sufficiency for three years after they graduate from our Program.
