San Francisco Street Project (SFSP)San Francisco Street Project, Inc. (Street Project) is a non-profit community service organization that provides a vital link between young professionals wishing to volunteer and established community service organizations in the San Francisco area. The "link" is created through structured weekend or evening projects that are developed and organized by our project leaders to suit our volunteers' interests and need for flexibility. Street Project is a grass-roots organization run by busy professionals that welcomes new faces, ideas, and energy! Street Project will: Street Project focuses on community needs that include inner-city children's programs, environmental restoration projects, homeless and low-income shelters, elderly centers, and AIDS assistance programs, among others By setting aside a few weekend hours a month, Street Project volunteers have assisted many causes in the Bay Area, including: The secret to Street Project's success is a volunteer program designed by young working people, with the needs of others like themselves specifically in mind. Our monthly newsletter, describing varied volunteer project opportunities is distributed by fax or e-mail to over 1,000 individuals and company contacts in the Bay Area. Through this process, Street Project commits between 25 and 60 volunteers a month for Street Project events, and the numbers continue to grow as we add more projects to the program. Projects usually do not require experience or particular skills.
