- Every 40 seconds a child disappears somewhere in the US:
- 1 out of 3 girls and 1 out of 6 boys are molested before they reach the age of 18.
- 1,500,000 missing children are reported each year.
- 5,000-20,000 are kidnapped by strangers, or just vanish
- 435,000 children in the US are sexually abused each year.
s.a.f.e network, inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to being part of the solution to these tragic
statistics. Because each statistic is not just a number, but a child in pain.
The mission of this non-profit organization is:
- educating children, parents, caregivers and educators on measures that both adults and children
can use to improve their chances of avoiding or escaping from sexual assault, abduction or other
forms of maltreatment that fall into this category. With our teacher training, family, parent,
community and child/teen workshops and comprehensive curriculum manual, we provide the tools that
can protect our children to a much higher degree..
- With our 32 page Baby Prints, Kid Prints or Teen Prints Safety ID Kits we offer a simple yet
effective tool for parents and other caregivers; this 4 year updateable do-it-yourself kit includes
non-toxic fingerprint ink strips, 4 laminating pouches with ID cards, a sterile DNA swab and
collection/storage envelope, an immunization record and 4 pages each for photos, medical, and
personal data; 4 pages of vital Baby Tips, Kid Tips or Teen Tips 101 (also placed on our website at
http://www.kidprints.org and
http://www.teen-scene.org, or that give much
of the important things families need to know regarding how the "bad guys" operate and how the "good
guys" can actually start winning the war being waged against our children. Also visit our mail
website for educators, parents, professionals, care-givers and anyone who works with or is
responsible for kids at
http://www.safenetwork.org.
The really important factor about these special kits is that they stay in the hands of the parent or
caregiver. Because of their special binding the pages can be torn out individually and run through a
police scanner and can broadcast picture and vital information within minutes of a child coming up
missing.
Our unique programs are designed so that school districts, schools, military bases, home educators,
private businesses, medical offices and hospitals, civic groups and most any organization or day
care provider that wishes to participate can do so simply by donating between $6.50 per kit or $3.50
each with a minimum order of 100.
We now have our Workshop manual and program that includes 9 parent, youth, community and school
workshops on a variety of topics (view the information at the information stations of our new and
improved shopping cart.
Because Safety Awareness and Family Education Network is a private non-profit we receive no
government funding other than the orders we receive from any governmental agency that purchases our
materials. We depend primarily on private and individual donations. We need donations that will
make it possible for us to distribute our kits, recruit volunteers and train them to teach our
workshops, course materials, and promote our special community events. Call us at 1-800-643-3310 or
email any questions or comments to staff@safenetwork.org.
This organization has informed us they are qualified to receive tax deductible contributions.
