Mangyan Youth Foundation
Mission Statement: To provide educational assistance to the Filipino youth.
History: Maria Cristina Cabral founded Mangyan Youth Foundation on October 9, 2002. Maria’s personal intention is to help unfortunate youth to go back to school and get at least two years vocational certificate. She sends e-mail and letters to her friends stating her intention and she receives a positive response. Maria is a born leader, when she was in high school, she managed to be part of 6 curricular activities in the same years she thinks that handling this organization is not a big deal.
Scholarship: Like any other scholarship, every candidate needs to go through screening and interview. Among the 10 applicants 4 were luckily chosen. They are now studying at Eastern Mindoro Institute of Arts & Sciences.
Criteria for Scholarship selection: Status in life, means that family is experiencing hardship, good moral character and grades.
