iSanctuaryInternational Sanctuary works to ensure that the girls it serves have access to proper mental, emotional, and spiritual counseling as well as medical treatment. Survivors of human trafficking and forced sexual exploitation have often experienced severe trauma from repeated violence, rape and other abuse. Psychological after-effects including post-traumatic stress disorder are common; additionally, many girls contract sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS. iSanctuary prioritizes the psychological and physical well-being of its girls, and works towards restoring them to wholeness. We work with shelters in Mumbai, India to help these victims to get back on their feet after being rescued. In the shelters, they make handmade jewelry that they send to Irvine, CA where it is processed on sold by local victims of sex trafficking. We pay all workers 100% above fair trade wages, double minimum wage.
International Sanctuary's goal is to see trafficked survivors fully restored and
reintegrated into society. For this to happen, survivors must be empowered
with belief in themselves-belief that they can truly succeed. The foundation
for rehabilitation and reintegration lies in the empowerment that results from
self-confidence, self-reliance, and hope for a future filled with possibility.
iSanctuary stands behind each of its trafficked survivors to provide the
necessary and individual support each girl needs as she is empowered for
reintegration into society.
