The Hedges Foundation
“The Hedges Foundation”, ia a non-profit organization focused on emergency and long-term housing solutions for women and children victimized by domestic violence.
Far to often women are separated from their children as the result of economic hardship stemming from domestic violence or, because they may continue to be in danger by staying in the same place. In California, the domestic violence system of shelters is consistently overwhelmed by the number of women in need.
The Hedges Foundation addresses this important need by (1) identifying available opportunities for acquisition of real estate properties that can be used as transitional housing sites, (2) acquiring, renovating and operating those sites, providing free emergency housing and low cost transitional living facilities.
