Forward Step: the Learning Coalition is a non-profit corporation that is dedicated to helping people take a forward step in their lives by creating an environment for learning that encourages the development of the optimum in each individual.

 

 

 

“If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day; teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.”

 

Forward Step’s COMPASS program teaches people “how to fish!”

 

COMPASS is an in-depth character development and life skills training course for use by educational and rehabilitation facilities and programs (such as schools, youth centers, correctional facilities, etc.). There is one version for teens and another for adults in crisis.

 

COMPASS teaches personal responsibility and positive behavior in an experiential, participatory curriculum and offers people the tools and success strategies they need to make and implement more effective choices and to develop healthy interpersonal relationships.

 

Participants learn skills such as:

• Goal-Setting                                 • Conflict Resolution                       • Journaling

• Decision Making

 

Which help them to develop:
