Engineers' Council seeks unrestricted corporate funds in support of various educational programs designed to:
encourage youth to diligently study mathematics and science in pursuit of an engineering career option,
enrich the engineering education experience,
enhance the engineering curriculum, and
annually produce a more highly skilled and more productive pool of new engineering graduates ready to pursue the highly respected and financially rewarding real world experience as academic, entrepreneur, practitioner or researcher.
Engineers' Council is a California not-for-profit public benefit corporation organized by engineers to:
advance the art and science of engineering for the general welfare of humankind,
advance the welfare of the general public through the creative resources and abilities of the engineering professions,
inform the general public of the advantages and capabilities of engineering in advancing human welfare, and
provide suitable public recognition of engineering achievement through the coordinated efforts of Academia, Corporate, Government Agency, Individual, and Technical Society Affiliates.
Other wholly owned subsidiary organizational entities with the overlapping management of Engineers' Council Board of Directors are:
Enhance Engineering Education Foundation,
Engineers of the World, and
San Fernando Valley Engineers' Council, Inc. (listed with the Internal Revenue Service).
Engineers' Council goals are achieved through effective management of the generous contributions and the dedicated service of all our affiliates.
Engineers' Council resources are managed by a board of directors and network of volunteer affiliates dedicated to refining and enriching the multi-discipline engineering education experience.
Engineers' Council youth programs, intended to encourage pursuit of engineering as a career option, are conducted at elementary, middle schools, high schools and junior colleges by volunteer affiliates throughout the year.
Student science and mathematics contests are jointly sponsored at various times throughout the year.
Honors and Awards presentations, recognizing student achievement, individual engineering accomplishment, and engineering project team achievement are made annually during National Engineers' Week, (the week encompassing George Washington's Birthday), at a gala celebration banquet where cash awards and plaques are distributed.
Multi-discipline engineering scholarship funds are distributed to Dean's Discretionary Fund at participating colleges and universities having ABET recognized engineering curriculum.
This organization has informed us they are qualified to receive tax deductible contributions.
