Orange County Cavy HavenWe rescue guinea pigs who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, and find them new homes after treating their illnesses and injuries. We have rescued guinea pigs from dumpsters, from doorsteps, from parks, and from shelters where they are rarely treated properly and often euthanized without a chance at adoption. We are a no-kill organization so we take in only as many animals as we can care for. But we try to save every one. Our rescue work is funded only by donations and accomplished by volunteers. The vast majority of our volunteers are students who want to make a difference in the world. Thus we operate as a tight network of foster homes and do not have a central facility. Your donations will provide food and medical care for the guinea pigs. Veterinary care for exotic animals is very expensive, and we find ourselves in crisis every time we rescue a guinea pig who needs surgery or extensive rehabilitation. But somehow we get it done through the wonderful dedication of our volunteers. Please support our mission by donating a small amount to the guinea pigs. Every little bit helps. 10$ buys 25 pounds of guinea pig pellets. 20$ buys a whole bale of hay. 30$ provides vegetables for 30 guinea pigs for one whole week! 50$ neuters a guinea pig. An xray for a broken leg or a bladder stone is $65. A blood test is 75$ and a female guinea pig with ovarian cysts can survive with only a 100$ operation. All of us at Orange County Cavy Haven thank you for your support. It is only through the kindness of people like you that we are able to continue our mission and make a little less suffering in the world. Visit the Orange County Cavy Haven home page. |
