ASSE International Student Exchange ProgramWelcome to the Lake/Geauga County Branch of ASSE: International Student Exchange Programs. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping foreign students make a smooth transition from their home country to high school in the United States. Our students come from Japan, Thailand, and around the world to study in high schools around the USA. But adjusting to a new country takes time and help. That is where ASSE comes in. We offer a summer orientation before the students move on to their new life. We offer students either a one month or four month orientation program. They are placed with a local family and attend English classes 20 hours a week. They also take weekly field trips for example, the Zoo, Sea World, a community fair, or a variety of other activities. The students live and attend classes in Painesville and Chardon, Ohio and we are ALWAYS in need of host families. Please contact us for more information about the ASSE program, our Lake/Geauga Chapter, and what you can do to get involved. |
