Rural Disabled Assistance Foundation, Inc.
RDAF assists individuals who are very poor and seriously ill with conditions that are exacerbated by exposures to common substances such as pesticides, petrochemicals, mold and formaldehyde. Chemical sensitivities isolate individuals and require unique solutions.
Government-paid health care, housing assistance and personal assistance are often unavailable, inappropriate or even dangerous for severely chemically injured, chemically sensitive people. We purchase physician-prescribed therapies, special food, supplements and equipment, and provide volunteer services to help people find safe housing, maintain independence, improve health and lower expenses.
RDAF secures and distributes donated organically grown food. We shop and run errands for people who are home-bound or cannot enter buildings contaminated by chemicals and mold. We do home, appliance and vehicle repairs. RDAF works with animal rescue organizations to provide service animals to people with mobility or vision impairments. We receive donated computers, clean them, add software and modems, and give them to people to reduce their isolation and improve their opportunities to gather information and secure employment. Volunteers offer computer-use training.
There are no other organizations that do what RDAF does. Our mission is to save lives for a population which cannot take advantage of other programs, are isolated by their medical conditions, and are often ignored, abandoned or injured by physicians, government agencies and even family members.
